General Counsel
Monique McDonogh is an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, specialising in corporate and governance law. As an Attorney, she is qualified to provide legal counsel and advice specifically in the areas of corporate governance, company secretarial matters, and regulatory compliance. This is distinct from general practice — her expertise is focused entirely on ensuring organisations meet their legal, governance and compliance obligations.
Monique McDonogh
General Counsel & Company Secretary
Monique is an Attorney with over 32 years of experience in corporate law and governance. Known for her drive towards excellence, she is a solution-orientated professional who thrives in dynamic corporate environments and sees every matter through to completion.
Over the course of her career, Monique has registered every type of company, close corporation, trade mark, and provisional patent with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). Her day-to-day statutory work has included share transfers and allotments, special and ordinary resolutions, maintaining company registers, and conducting statutory audits.
Her broader legal experience covers the registration and amendments of trusts, and the liquidation of companies and close corporations. She has also drafted wills and testaments, prenuptial agreements, various types of contracts and notarial bonds.
Monique has additionally served as a cost consultant to fellow Attorneys, drafting Bills of Cost and appearing in that capacity before both the North Gauteng Magistrates' Court and the North Gauteng High Court.
She further spent about eleven years in the property industry, where she gained extensive property management and development experience — working with leases, sale agreements, shareholders' agreements, development agreements, joint ventures, and land rezoning applications.
